One Down Many To Go!

I finally finished Noah's birth announcement!  It only took me about a year and a half.  I thought I would get a jump on his and start before he was born - it was a good idea but didn't end up taking any less time than Logan's.  So glad that it's done, now on to other projects... I have about 5 in various stages of completion.  Hmmm... which one to focus on now?  Maybe my mom's Christmas gift from last year???  ahhh!!!

Pictures as promised

Since I posted about learning to crochet Tunisian style I have completed 3 dishcloths.  I'm really loving this new style of crocheting!  I love using my dish cloth so much I decided they would make excellent Mother's Day gifts.  (Mom yours is going to be a little late...)

So anyway, here are some pictures - not just of dishcloths but also of the boys since really that's why anyone reads this blog anyway!!

10 Blessings

Fridays I clean the house.  Logan helps me dust - for about 2 minutes.  Then he helps vacuum.  This lasts a little longer, usually 5 to 10 minutes - awesome!!  It takes us a while, it's usually spread out through the whole day, but at the end of the day I can say, "Whew! The house is clean!"  This past Friday night I came downstairs from putting the boys to bed and starting picking up all the toys.  I noticed some stray toys in the powder room.  When I turned to leave I noticed 10 lovely little finger prints perfectly placed on the bathroom mirror.  At first I felt frustration surging up in me and sigh of "Why do I BOTHER?!"  Then I realized these 10 precious finger prints are why I clean the house.  If for nothing more than to teach my boys; how to be responsible with all the Lord has blessed us with, the work ethic my mother taught me, to delight in a job well done, the importance of finishing a task, and many other subtle teaching points that come from the simple task of cleaning the mirror and vacuuming the floor.  If nothing else my boys keep me on my knees!  They are such a joy and delight. I pray I point them to Jesus every chance I get.
Unfortunately my picture doesn't do a very good job of capturing the hand prints, but you can kind of see them.

Something New!

Among other things this week I learned a new way to crochet!  It's called Tunisian Crochet and it is excellent for making dish cloths.  I'm about half way through my first dish cloth, pictures to come when it's done.

Noah has conquered the art of climbing the stairs, now on to descending the stairs!

The weather has finally made a turn for the better.  Today we actually saw at least 60 degrees in the sun.  The boys and I are LOVING the warmer temperatures.  They are still dressed up in snow pants and boots because of the 3 feet of snow in our back yard, but the hats and coats are no longer necessary!!  Poor Noah gets completely soaked crawling around, but he loves it non-the-less!

We are looking forward to a sunny, warm Saturday tomorrow!  Thank you Jesus!

When Life Gives You Lemons...

A few things we've done in the past two weeks:
Logan is STILL loving the snow.  We are hoping and praying that the 6 inches we got last night are the last we'll see until next winter!  Our weekend forecast for 50 degrees and sun has been long awaited!
The boys are getting so big!  One of their favorite things to do right now is wrestle together.  I'm sure that will be a life long delight!
Logan continues to love playing with trucks.  He's started making his toys talk which is hilarious to listen to!  He often tells them, "You need to wait, it's not your turn."  HAHA!!
Noah has begun his foray into stair climbing.  We have quite a flight for him to practice on!
This is as far as he's made it to date!

Welcome to Duluth

Well we've been here almost 2 weeks and everyday I think, "Maybe the snow will melt a little more today!"  And it seems like every OTHER day it snows a little bit more!  This past week was no exception.  It's hard to say exactly how much snow blustered in over the past two days.  There were very high winds which made all the snow drift into huge piles.  Logan loves it!  Me, not so much!  But I did get my exercise this morning shoveling the van out and clearing the side walks.  Luckily they know how to do it right here and there were no less than 3 snowplows circling around our neighborhood clearing the snow out of the road as fast as I could throw it there!  I'm so glad this was a Spring storm, the snow is already melting, it's still blowing all over the place, but it's melting, and that makes me smile!  So here's to Spring coming soon!
