Question of the Week

How did you manage hip pain while pregnant? I've read lots of advice about pillows, my bed is full of them, there is almost not room for Garrett anymore! It's kind of unwieldy turning over with all the pillows, but they do help. I've also been taking lots of warm baths. Any other suggestions from those who have gone before?

Pray that baby moves. seriously. he's probably on a nerve (and it won't be the last time). ha! :)
Otherwise, all I can think of is to apply pressure/massage where it hurts.
I tried a chiropractor at wk.33 w/ the boys; I ended up on crutches for 2 wks. after that. :( But, others have better luck w/ chiropractors while pregnant. So, if you trust anyone over there, you might want to try that, too. Sometimes they can manipulate you in such a way to have the baby move into better position for delivery, too.
We'll be praying for you. It's not fun to be in pain while pregnant, but it is common to have hip/back pain. Your body is releasing "relaxin", a hormone, getting you ready by opening up your hips to deliver that baby. But, it won't last forever. Just keep telling yourself that. :)

Was praying for you today, Kristen. I had five kids but that's a long time ago :-)! I did have a lot of hip pain and was told, just try and push the baby over some...sheesh! I'm sure it didn't help! Take care, it's almost over. Liz
